Way back early in our “familyhood” we took the kids out hiking on Saturdays (every other Saturday when they were all here and not at their other parents houses) as part of the Fall Hiking Spree. We earned our staffs and a shield to put on it.
Then the following few years we would start the Fall Hiking Spree only to have soccer, football and other kids activities take over, leaving very little time to get out on the trails. We started several times but never quite got all the way through.
Now that the kids are off doing their own thing Warren and I decided we would start the Fall Hiking Sprees again. Just the two of us.
Yeah, we are that couple.
Hiking, NPR listening, liberal, tree hugging, micro-brew beer drinking people. HAHA!
I know that by the time we finish all of the trails needed to complete the Fall Hiking Spree that the trees in the first photo will be all but leafless and I look forward to watching the progression of the season.
It’s nice to do something for our health that we enjoy.
It’s nice to be able to slow down and really notice what is around us – leaves, chipmunks scurrying over the trail and deer grazing in an early morning meadow.
It’s nice to really notice all of the little things that make up Fall in Ohio.
Where do you live and what do you love most about this time of year?
