Halloween Crafts - How To Make a Dead Rose

Making dead or dying roses is really easy and they look amazing grouped together in a Halloween display.

This can be done with either fresh or silk roses…but of course silk ones will last from year to year.

Painting a fresh rose will cause it to die very quickly.  Just so you know.

First you’ll need Design Master spray paint in flat black and a spare piece of cardboard or foam core.

Spray a small amount of paint on your cardboard/foam core.

Brush the tips of the rose in the puddle. The idea is to make the edges of the petals dark rather than coloring the whole thing black.

Then with a very light hand spray over the rose to darken the whole thing just a bit, make the outsides darker than the insides.

You want the whole thing to look like it’s dying but the edges usually dry first so they are the darkest part.

Look at your rose from all directions and add paint as needed.

Try a floral arrangement with a couple dozen dead roses or place several in a Halloween display.
