The Fairy Garden

It’s a beautific fall day in NE Ohio!  And this is what it looks like out my front door today.  The leaves are really beginning to turn now.  It’s breathtaking!  Is it any wonder this is my favorite season?

Earlier this summer we had gone to my MIL’s house in the Poconos for vacation.  I brought back some of the moss that grows around her house just because I love the color and texture.  I’m not sure why but I just really love the stuff.  Anyway… I then gathered up all of the big rocks that have been in and around our yard and I planted a rock garden.  Rocks, moss, dirt, fern and even an old pipe. Then one day I was at work and saw all of these great plastic fairy figures that we got in.  They are so much fun!  I “planted” them in my rock garden too along with some impatiens, a sun dial from The Biltmore in VA, a turtle and ceramic frog.  I grew my own little kingdom.  I have loved pulling into my drive every afternoon this summer and seeing my fairy garden.  It was just something silly and little that made me smile.  Today I took pictures of the fairy garden because I’ll have to take the figures, turtle and frog indoors soon.  I don’t want to leave them out in the winter weather.  Besides, they’ll spend half of the time under snow where I can’t enjoy them anyway.

I finally figured out how to get a flickr slideshow on my blog and now I can share the photos I took with you all.
