Photo Sunday – Ellis Island

I like posting photos on Sundays.  I take so many that it seems fitting that once a week a blog post should feature just a few of them.

This is from our vacation last summer. I’ve been thinking about vacation a lot lately. :)

SHE needs no explanation… but seeing her in person isn’t NEARLY the same as seeing a photo.

This is from “The American Immigrant Wall of Honor”.

Is this O’Dell Family MY family? The stories I had always heard growing up was that the O’Dell’s I descend from were two brothers who were chased out of Ireland for stealing horses.  I did find record of other O’Dells that passed through Ellis Island so I don’t know.

And my mother’s side of the family. I couldn’t get a good photo of this because of the way the light was hitting it…lots of Riley’s to choose from… or were we O’Riley then?  There seems to be some debate about that.

The visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island makes me want to do more genealogy but I just haven’t made the time for it. So many things I want to do.
