Scandinavian Stitch Craft: Unique Projects and Patterns for Inspired Embroidery by Karin Holmberg
I remember when I lived in Germany watching one of my friends doing traditional German needlework and I’ve been fascinated by needlework and the way it is traditionally done ever since.
From the back of the book:
All you really need to begin is a needle and thread and you’ll be ready to embroider almost anything- anywhere. Personalize home textiles and clothing while sewing on the train, at the coffee shop, or with friends. Karin Holmberg’s inspirational projects include baby clothes, throw pillows, hats, sweaters, napkins, socks, and much more!
Scandinavian Stitch Craft starts with a description of Regional Stitches to give you an idea of the history of some of the stitches and then jumps right in to projects to make. To learn the techniques and tools you can flip to the back of the book.
Scandinavian Stitch Craft includes the following:
- 39 Projects
- Transferring Paterns
- Technique and Care
- Embroidery Lesson
- 128 Pages
- MSRP $19.00 USD
- Patterns that can be used as is or for inspiration
- Tracing paper to trace patterns
I’m truly itching to sit down and create something fantastic after pouring over this book. I’m so inspired by the bright colors and fabulous designs. I’ve had an idea to stitch on some pillowcases for my room and there are a couple of adorable ideas in the book to try.
The nice thing about embroidery is that you can work on it in the warmer months without baking under a lap full of heavy fabric!
