Sea Shell Party or Wedding Favors

Here is an easy to make and inexpensive favor for a wedding, shower or beach themed party.

All you need are; Natural Bees wax for candles, short wicks and clean sea shells.

Melt the bees wax, dip the bottom of the wick in hot wax then put in sea shell.  Let cool a minute.  This will hold the wick in place. Pour hot candle wax into shell. TIP: wedge the shells down in a container of sand to keep them level while pouring and setting/cooling the wax.

Before wax cools sprinkle a little sand around the edges for a “beachier” look.

This favor could be a little messy.  I used glass and metal glue to glue beach glass and shells into a larger shell then put some sand inside.  I think you could fill the shell with resin to make a more permanent favor.  If anyone tries this let me know.  A friend at work did it with a large piece and the resin did set.  I’m sure it would work. The names and dates I put on the edges with a Sharpie paint pen. You all know how I feel about my Sharpies!

The votive candle is a plain glass votive cup that I glued the shells onto.  The mini aluminum tin has a photo of the happy couple a bit of sand, a bridal favor wedding band and a couple of shells sealed inside and the outside edge is decorated with ribbon.  I also put a small round magnet on the back so it would do more than sit around collecting dust.
