Style Stitch Staple Basic Upholstering Skills to Tackle Any Project by Hannah Stanton
From the back of the book:
Style, Stitch, Staple combines straightforward upholstery techniques with advice on choosing and styling fabrics to help the reader transform even the most dilapidated furniture into gorgeous update pieces.
My husband brought home a chair from his mother’s house that had been his fathers. While it has interesting lines and it is super comfortable the fabric is SHOT! I have been dreaming of having it reupholstered for him as a gift at some point in the future.
Then I got a copy of Style, Stitch, Staple and I’m having second thoughts. I’ve been through the book a couple of times now and I’m actually thinking I could take this on myself.
I have made slipcovers for other furniture I’ve had and for a few television sets. I’m thinking that with Style, Stitch, Staple on hand I can do it without too much grief. I’ve even been scoping out fabrics on ebay.
I’ll let you know how it goes when I get down to work on it.
