Tissue Paper and Glass

December 14, 2009

I kind of got into a tissue paper and Mod Podge mode for a couple of days back in early November.  You’ll see another post on this I’m sure.

I decorated two different glass items in this post.  First a candle holder that has three votive cups inside a cylinder and then a small votive cup.  (I thought I might use the votive for a childrens’ craft class.)

I painted sections of the glass with the glossy Mod Podge and laid down 1″ squares of red and green tissue paper and covered them in Mod Podge again.  I worked in small sections being careful not to tear the tissue paper.

The votive cup I coated in Mod Podge and then sprinkled in glitter.  I wasn’t too crazy about how that one turned out though.  It just goes to show that even people who craft for a living don’t like EVERYTHING they turn out. 🙂

My photos are taken with a battery operated tea light inside the finished craft but you could definately use a real tea light. Of course, if your children make this craft and want to put it in their room the battery operate light would be more safe.
