Toolbox Tuesday: Viewtainer Containers to Help You Organize Your Craft Supplies

Toolbox Tuesday: Viewtainer Containers for Craft Supplies

I recently received a box of spill proof containers from the folks at Viewtainer to try out in my studio.

It makes me think that someone out there might know that I’ve been dropping just about every other thing I pick up lately and they came to my rescue. haha!

Or that I desperately need to organize my craft supplies!

Notice a change in the contents of the first photo and this second one?

There are four Viewtainers missing.

Turns out my husband snatched them up and took them to HIS workbench to store the blades for his jewelers saw. Stinker!

I knew right away that I wanted to use some of these Viewtainers to corral my Faber-Castell supplies. This little, flimsy container I have is so full it won’t close and every time I pick it up pencils and brush pens fly every which way. And I don’t even have all of the stuff I own open yet!

I definitely need some help here.

Ahhh. So much better. Gelatos, brush pens, Aquarelles … all sorted and neatly stored.

I like the largest Viewtainer for my small washi tape collection. It keeps it clean and dry and I can easily see what I have on hand.

The top Viewtainer that is cut off a bit is holding water color brushes. I like that I can place them in the opening and they will stay upright while they dry.

I was a little worried about the PITT Pastels sticking up over the top of the Viewtainer because I thought the lid wouldn’t go on.

Not only will the lid go on, it’ll stay on. Even if I tip the Viewtainer upside down.

And now I can put all of my Faber-Castell supplies in my rolling rack and not have to worry about them spilling out all over the floor… on a daily basis.

YIPPEE!

I have four smaller Viewtainers left to fill … I suppose I’d better decided how to use them super quick before Warren takes off with them too!

I also have a couple of black Viewtainers left and I’m cooking up an idea or two for them as well.

I think I’m pretty much in love with Viewtainers. They come in several colors and it’s easy to see what is inside them. The tops and bottoms have some gription (using a word made up by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer) so that even if my hands are wet I can hang on to them, there is that little slit opening in the top that reminds me of a rubber coin purse I had for milk money when I was a kid AND they are easy to grab, along with a sketchbook, and take on the road.

What is YOUR favorite way to organize your craft supplies?

P.S. Just in case you are interested in having some Viewtainers for yourself there is FREE shipping on all orders over $25 for the month of September! Find out more here.
