I started playing around with nail polish on metal last spring when I created the Lucky Green Washer Necklace and then I made more Washer Necklaces because I never know when to stop. Like potato chips only not as bad for your cholesterol!
I love that nail polish is something I have here at home, it is pretty inexpensive and comes in a wide range of colors and finishes. Man, don’t you wish you could say that about more art supplies?
To add color to these Rue Romantique bezels I painted nail polish on in a fairly thin coat and let it dry.
I painted on a second coat and let it ALMOST dry. While the paint was still a little tacky I rubbed on a little silver foil then let the polish dry completely.
To finish it up that I added a little text with paper and then finished it all off with ICE Resin. I like the way the silver and the paper appear to float inside the bezel.
All I need to do now is add earring wires and I have a new pair of earrings!
Nail polish. Who knew!
Have you discovered an unusual use for nail polish?
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post but I was provided with product to create with. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
Awesome use of nail polish! Since I can only seem to keep it on my nails for 36 hours tops, yet can’t seem to stop buying it, I can now use my hoard effectively! Thank you !
