Tissue Paper and Glass Ornaments

December 17, 2009

I swear I saw a project similar to this on I Love to Create but, for the life of me, I can’t find it now.  Makes me wonder if it was really there? Ha! The season is finally getting to me. 🙂

I cut tissue paper into approximately 1 inch squares.  Paint the clear glass ornament in small sections with glossy Mod Podge, place tissue paper on and then cover with Mod Podge again.  I had to be kind of careful because the tissue paper tears fairly easily.

They look great in a bowl together!

I LOVE these bright colors!!

The nice thing about this is that you can make ornaments to match any decor.  I might save some of these for an Easter/Spring decoration.

This is a great idea! I just put some heart shaped glass ornaments to use this week for a Val’s Day thing, but I love these. We’re having a Christmas in July party where we’ll make Christmas decorations–I’m adding these to the list of things to try!

Why thank you! Orange and green sounds like a fun color combo… as we all know I ADORE bright colors. They are easy to make too and I have found (quite by accident) that ornaments covered in tissue paper and Mod Podge don’t break quite as easily as ornaments that are not! OOPS!

Wonderful idea! I often have a hard time finding ornaments in whatever color scheme I have chosen (green and orange this year). This is the perfect way to get exactly what I want – and so cute too!
