Welcome to the May edition of the Designer Crafts Blog Hop. I have a few reasons for posting this particular project other than the fact that I’m a part of the blog hop:
- A dear friend and designer has recently had surgery and I wanted to make a card for her (Hi Lisa!! I hope you get better quick!)
- It’s almost Mother’s Day (I wonder if I can send the same card to my mother that I send to my friend? Is there a rule about that?) and YOU might be looking for a card to make
- It’s also almost National Scrapbooking Day. And while I don’t scrapbook I DO make a card on occassion.
This is one of those projects that I made and was so into doing what I was doing that I forgot to take photos of the process. But don’t worry, it’s easy but when/if I make more I’ll try and remember to photograph the steps. 🙂
I used a 4×5 blank card as the base and cut a rectangle 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 of the Flowered Core’dinations cardstock in Tranquil Blue from the Jillibean Soup Collection. I sanded it and adhered it to the front of the blank card with my GlueArts Glue Glider Pro.
Next, I cut a piece of the denimn colored cardstock (I think it was LAKE) in the shape of a pocket. And I wrinkled it up, laid it out flat and wrinkled it up again, then sanded it. Then I drew “stitches” around the pocket with an Elmer’s Paint pen.
I adhered the pocket to the front of the card with the Glue Glider Pro and then put teeny Darice mini gold brads left over from a Consumer Crafts project to the points of the pocket.
Finally, I stuck stickers from Jolee’s boutique to the front of the card to make them look like they are sticking out of the pocket.
On the inside I wrote “A pocket full of posies” but you could write or stamp whatever sentiment you’d like.
