Akron Tree Festival on Thanksgiving

November 27, 2009

Almost every year on Thanksgiving day after a mid day meal of all of the usual turkey and fixin’s my family and I head into Akron for the Tree Festival at the John S. Knight Center.

Companies donate product or money for designers to design a tree, wreath or other Christmas related product (sometimes individuals donate an item as well) and then the good citizens of Akron and the surrounding area bid on and buy the trees, wreaths or other donated items.  All of the proceeds benefit Akron Children’s Hospital.  I decorated trees a few years in the past but haven’t done one in a couple of years.  It’s a worthy cause to say the least!

I made a slide show of some of the pictures I took.  Some are better than others but it gives you a feel for the event and it might even give you ideas for your own holiday decorating.
