Cast iron cleaning and maintenance was apparently beyond me because every time I used my skillet the food stuck to the point where it was impossible to remove and I had no idea how to clean it up again. I ruined a few good meals this way. Ugh!
I was just talking to a neighbor over the fence the other day and he recently retired and is bored to tears. He’s gone and gotten a part time job but he’s still looking for something. That’s when it occurred to me that many dads might be looking for a new hobby and Father’s Day might be the perfect time to buy something to encourage that.
When I decided to create an inspiration board of spring decor ideas I at first thought I might do a “serious” room makeover inspiration board. And then I thought, “Honey, you do you”. I found these rustic wood ledges on Walnut Hollow website and thought I could work with them but I wasn’t quite sure how. I liked the idea of still having a little display space and maybe adding a pant or two but other than that, I didn’t have a clear plan. And then I thought of drawers, that are shelves, that hold pretty things. DIY drawer shelves. Boom!
There is something about a teeny tiny miniature world that grabs my imagination and runs away with it. And setting up tiny fairy gardens and working on miniature backyard bungalows sucks me in.
