I made this Halloween Mixed Media Brooch and wore it last year and I’ve been wearing it all season this year too. I love it!

FIRST, I made my own background paper using glossy cardstock and Ranger® Alcohol Inks…Butterscotch and Red Pepper – no Blending Solution. I used a natural sponge and just dabbed the ink on in a random fashion. First one color and then the other. Let dry.
Cut a piece of the alcohol inked paper the same size as two pieces of Memory Glass. (If you want the back of your pin to have color cut two pieces and put them wrong sides together.) The crow is a glittery sticker I used. You can use any sticker you like as long as it is the right size. Just put it in the center of the paper and press it down.
Next, making sure the memory glass is clean seal the crow inside with the silver foil tape. Burnish the edges to make sure the tape and glass are stuck together.
On the back of the pin I glued down a super strong magnet and a bail. You may have to tape this in place and let it dry over night.
With jump rings and a head pin I added a several “good luck” charms. A heart with a shamrock on it, a horseshoe (facing UP so the luck won’t run out), wishbone on a head pin with four small seed beads and a small bottle filled with powdered bat wing (black embossing powder).
Use the other half of the super strong magnet on the under side of your clothing to keep the pin on. It will keep it from falling off. Even when you get stuck to a shelf in the grocery store! Don’t ask me how I know that. 🙂
The magnet also doesn’t make holes in your clothing.
USE CAUTION – if you have a pacemaker
