There were a few years where I didn’t do much for holidays. They just didn’t seem as much fun without young children around to decorate, bake and be festive for.
It was downright depressing.
Then I thought, “Wait! I’m really only 10 years old so I can celebrate for ME!”
(Add the two digits of your age 4+6=10 to find your age … in my world anyway)
Then I had a talk with my nearly adult children and we all thought it would be fun to have a Halloween party as a part of our weekly family dinner.
So I’ve been playing around with party ideas and I came up with these Halloween Cupcake Paper Mache Box Party Favors.
Paper Mache Cupcake Box (photo and purchasing source)
I kept the color palette to four colors; purple, orange, black and lime green.
I painted the box bottoms and part of the tops. You could paint the insides and the whole top if you want.
Nothing fancy, a solid color base and some lines and dots.
Then I glued 1/4 inch and 1/5 inch pom poms to the tops with hot glue for the “frosting”.
Honestly, they didn’t take all that much time to make and I think they are a whole lot of fun.
I think I’m going to have to make more!!
But what should I put in them besides candy? Any good ideas?
Love love these “cupcakes” and I’m thinking of making them for Christmas as my “calorie free” cupcakes!!! and using such fun Christmas paper to cover them and fill with Christmas “goodies”
That sounds like a fantastic idea Minnie!! 🙂
I really like these favors….they are so colorful and festive!! Oh, and I love your method for calculating your age. Very clever!!
Thanks for the comment, Renee! 🙂
I’m not afraid to say that I am 46 but 10 explains my attitude so much better some days. Hehehe
Have a fantastic day!

I’m going to make some of these for both of my sons care packages for Halloween. I know they will love them with some miniature cookies inside.
Thanks for the comment, Jann. WoW! What lucky boys you have. I hope you’ll share a photo of the finished boxes. If you want, I can send my address for some cookies too! (kidding!!) 🙂
