A Surprising Way to Jumpstart Your Creativity
Some of my very favorite projects have come about because I was cleaning up the studio. Like this ATC Inspired Mini Canvas Wall Art from back in the Spring. I’ve been totally surprised lately to realize that cleaning can actually help me jumpstart my creativity.
Or these sweet lavender filled sachets from this post How to Turn a Vintage Hanky Into a Sweet Smelling Sachet. Which, by the way can be found in my etsy shop.
I’m starting to believe that I get some of my very best inspiration when I’m cleaning up my studio.
Lucky for me there is always cleaning up to be done because once I get started on an idea I drag out all sorts of other things to create my project.
Once finished, the cleaning up starts all over again and I never know what bit of fabric, paper or string will inspire me to start the process all over again.
Sometimes, when I’m feeling stuck for a project for a manufacturer or company I’ll lay out their products and then just start cleaning off one shelf or one corner and, before I know it, an idea has formed and I’m off to the races.
How do you jumpstart your creativity? How do you get inspired when you are stuck? Do you think that cleaning up a small area in your creative space would help to jump start you?
