Decorate MDF Frames with Scrapbooking Supplies

April 20, 2010

scrapbooking, memory crafts

I’ve been crafting quite a lot with these MDF Memory frames.  They are great because they are flat and have a lot of surface area that can be decorated in a variety of ways.  In fact, I’m going to be on TV on April 25th at 11:30 am on a local show called “Golden Opportunities”. I wrote a blog post about taping the show in a previous post. There is a part of me that is afraid that the whole thing will be sort of a train wreck but I had a great time and I did something that was “out of my comfort zone”.  That’s always good for us. Isn’t it?

I have several posts for you this week using those frames.  If you have a hard time finding them in your favorite craft store you can buy them from my ebay store.

The frames are a great craft for Mother’s Day, as a gift for a teacher at the end of the school year, for a grandparent or just to make a frame that matches the decor in a room.  Make one for your child to show off a prom photo or for a little person with a picture of grandparents who live far away.

The directions for the original frame (and one of the samples on the show) are here. If you have any questions at all just send an email and I’ll be happy to help you.

If you are concered about using the paper cement in the original directions, by all means, use Mod Podge, Zip Dry or your favorite paper adhesive.  There are no hard and fast rules here… just have fun!
