I came up with several card designs for an upcoming event that I’m hosting. I had to make cards that were not too hard so that beginniners could do them but also not too easy so that more advanced paper crafters wouldn’t be bored to tears… not an easy thing let me tell you.
Supplies:
Mat Stack
Solid cardstock in green, yellow and red
5×7 inch card blanks
ribbon
ruler
paper trimmer
tape runner
Marvy Uchida Scalloped Heart Punch
White embroidery thread
Heart shaped buttons
Glue Dots
I LOVE using mat stacks when I have a bunch of cards to make. They have lots of papers that all go together so that I can layer to my hearts’ content and have everything look good in the end.
Choose four coordinating sheets of card stock and cut a piece from each that is 1 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches long.
I put the ribbon OVER the middle pieces and UNDER the end pieces of card stock. Tape everything down making sure not to tape down the ribbon in the center. Punch the heart out of three solid colors of card stock. I used green, yellow and red (all of the hearts are the same size).
Stamp “Just for You” on the red heart (I used black Staz-On ink). Layer the hearts so they are slightly off set and tape them together. Tape them under the ribbon. Tie white embroidery thread onto the heart buttons and use glue dots to place them on the face of the card.
