Thanksgiving Day Menu, Shopping List and Recipes

Thanksgiving Day

I thought I would share most of my Thanksgiving Day Menu, Shopping List and Recipes. Partly for my kids who are starting to ask, “Hey Mom, how do you make this dish?” and also, for any of you who might just be starting out or looking for new dishes to prepare.

I change things up now and again but the core of the meal remains the same.

The shopping list and menu are listed twice, one as an editable excel spreadsheet and again as a PDF. Use whichever works best for you.

I have all of the recipes printed out and in sheet protectors that go into a folder labeled THANKSGIVING so I can pull the whole thing out each year and be ready to go.

Shopping List and Menu Thanksgiving – excel

Shopping List and Menu Thanksgiving– PDF

Cheese Appetizers

Stuffed Mushroom Caps

Buttery Dinner Rolls – You can make these a day or two ahead and cook them until they just barely start to brown. Remove and store in an airtight container. On Thanksgiving day put them in the oven until they start to brown and they are ready to serve. It makes homemade rolls so much easier!

Cranberry Orange Relish

Green Bean Casserole

Mashed Potatoes and Turkey Gravy

Pecan Pie

Roast Turkey

Sage and Giblet Dressing

Candied Sweet Potatoes

I hope you find this helpful and if you have any questions either email or leave a comment and I’ll help as much as I can.

Have a fabulous, tasty Thanksgiving!

PS. The image above comes from an old children’s book that I have. Feel free to use it to decorate place cards, menus and anything else.

We are so much alike! I’ve got a menu and shopping list thats 10 years old, as well as detailed timeline of when to do what. I’m blessed with a big crowd and friends who fill in wonderful side dishes like butternut squash lasagne and desserts like chocolate pecan pie.

What a wonderful holiday Thanksgiving is!
    See you soon, I hope!

Deborah, Ahhhh, the timeline. You are way ahead of me. The timeline is kind of in my head but… some years my head isn’t in the timeline. You know?
We always have a crowd too. When you have 4 kids and all of their SO’s plus “adopted” family it makes for one fantastically crowded day. I love it!

      Hi Dawn,

I’ve been doing this for about three years now. It makes my life so much easier. I have a folder for each major holiday and I’ve been thinking of doing one for each month just to make sure I am organized for holidays, birthdays and whatever. I’ve got a goal to focus on the “little things” that make me happy in 2013 and one of those little things is feeding my family and having them all come together.
I hope you have a happy and tasty Thanksgiving dear.
I also hope to see you in January?

      Vicki
