I have a craft product review up over on Craft Test Dummies for Color Infusions Memory Thread from DMC today that I hope you’ll check out.
One of the fun things about doing reviews for Craft Test Dummies is that I usually end up making a small sample with the product I’m reviewing. Not being one to make a sample and then toss it in a corner I like to create something with the samples I make.
This time, I created a lavender scented sachet.
The link to the pattern I used can be found on the DMC website here: Color Infusions Memory Thread. The pattern is a PDF in the right hand column of the page and is free for download.
Once the stitching was done I added a loop of ribbon and sewed a rectangle of plain muslin to the back (right sides together). I rounded the corners and left a space open for turning.
I was really pleased the the memory thread held up with a little rough handling during the turning process.
I gave the whole thing a little press with a warm, dry iron and then broke out my big jar of organic, dried lavender.
I used a paper funnel to fill the sachet with lavender and then stitched the opening closed.
I love the way my little sachet turned out. It smells divine!
And it’s already in the mail as a sweet Valentine’s Day gift for an amazing friend.
Very cute. What a cool product…thanks for introducing it to us.
You bet, Deb!
