A couple of months ago I got an email from one of the companies I deal with and they mentioned a 4th Burner Pot. I had never heard of a 4th Burner Pot so I decided to look around a bit and find out more about it.
I found out that a 4th burner pot is specifically designed to fit stoves’ often-underused fourth burner. This pot has a small diameter and will fit on that fourth burner when the entire stove is full and a big pot just won’t squeeze in there. Perfect for big family meals where the stove top is jam packed or for canning day.
So yeah, I bought one just to check it out. It seemed like it would be super useful.

Kuhn Rikon 4200 12-Cup 4th Burner Pot
The 4th burner pot is a tea kettle, steamer, strainer, and boiling basket. There are measurements on the inside of the stainless steel pot which makes it great for lots of uses and it has a glass lid so you can see what is going on inside. A stainless steel basket is included with the pot for steaming, boiling, or blanching and it has pretty red silicone handles that stay cool(ish) to the touch.
The lid has drainage holes in two sizes and it locks in place so you can turn the whole pot upside down if you want and the lid will stay in place. Draining pasta without creating another dirty dish? Yup, I’m all for that!
I’ve used it to boil eggs, steam asparagus, boil pasta, and and cook just two or three ears of corn. I can’t wait until canning time as I think this will be perfect for sterilizing canning rings and lids. Just lift the basket up out of the water and use a magnetic wand or tongs to pull out the lids or rings I want. Easy!
I have to say, I love this 4th burner pot and I’m glad I bought it. The things you didn’t know you needed until you had one.
What was the last super useful item you bought?
Great idea! Multi purpose is great. Thanks!
