I’m not gonna lie, I was anxious about driving to Philadelphia and attending Bead Fest all by my lonesome but once I got past the first night and hit Bead Fest for class on Wednesday morning all my anxiety went away in a puff of smoke.
It is amazing what happens when you fall in with your tribe. You just feel like you BELONG. It feel as if just about everything you do, the essence of WHO you are is A-OK.
I have several photos I took as I was walking around the Bead Fest Expo Friday afternoon and for a few minutes on Saturday morning that I have put into a slide show to save your scrolling finger. If you have any questions be sure to leave them in the comments and I’ll answer the best I can.
That last shot of the ceramic beads is probably my favorite photo I’ve taken all year. The colors, the shapes and the words are fantastic!
Vicki, Beadfest looks so awesome! Attending a future Beadfest is one of my personal “beady” dreams!! (I just attended the Society of Glass Bead Makers annual conference here in my hometown of Houston a few months ago, and it was AMAZING!!) I also whole-heartedly agree with your comment about finding your “people” – it is an amazing feeling when a group of people come together with a common interest and common goals, especially if you have spent any time in your life feeling like an outsider. (Which I know all too well!) I really enjoyed your overview of your Beadfest trip, and I am always excited to get your blog posts in my email – it means I get to take a little time to enjoy some beady goodness!
Hi Kimberly,
I hope you get to go to a Bead Fest (there are a few in different places throughout the year) it sure was a lot of fun!
Aww, thanks for your compliment. I’m glad you get to sit back and “visit” with me.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Vicki
Walking around so many beads equates to a coffee lover walking into Starbucks – heaven. Pure heaven. Fortunately I’m a lover of beads and coffee… 🙂
