Designer Craft Connection Blog Hop
Welcome to another Designer Craft Connection Blog Hop. Today I thought I’d share a quick Teacher Appreciation Gift that you and/or your kids can make. I made gifts like this with a group of children way back in 2008 I think. The kids had a great time making them and they turned out to be great Teacher Gifts.
All you need is a small clay pot and Patio Paint by DecoArt. I used Geranium Red.
Paint the pot (I painted inside and out) with two coats allowing it to dry between coats.
In the original project I used a wooden spool for the stem. I didn’t have one on hand this time so I used a wood drawer pull.
Add either a silk leaf or one cut out of paper and the “stem” with some hot glue.
Write the teachers name, “Thank You” or some other phrase with a Sharpie Paint Pen.
I wouldn’t recommend placing unwrapped food inside but some little wrapped candies, a nicely scented candle or even a gift card would be a great way to fill out your gift.
The great thing about this is that you could make several Teacher Appreciation gifts for very little money. 🙂
To HOP around the ring be sure to see the DCC Widget in the right hand side bar of this blog. Also, I’ll be back on 5/12 with a DCC Designer Challenge that you won’t want to miss.
As a 26 year teacher….please also include a useful Starbucks giftcard nestled inside. That will really show your appreciation 🙂
CUTE!
Thank you Cindi!! 🙂
Love this Vicki. It looks like it would be fairly easy to complete and I love the idea for using it as a gift card presenter,
