DIY Mason Jars: Thirty-Five Creative Crafts and Projects for the Classic Container by Melissa Averinos
From the back of the book:
With DIY Mason Jars, you’ll find everything you need to make one-of-a-kind creations with everyone’s favorite jar. Featuring step-by-step instructions and four-color photographs, this book will kickstart your creativity with thirty-five imaginative projects that will add a pop of fun to any room.

The book starts off with a bit of history about the canning jar including a bit about the history of Mason, Ball and Kerr and moves on to the Mason jar as it’s seen today.
The first chapter is, as you might expect, full of projects for the kitchen. My favorite it the Salad Dressing Mixer and I’m certain I will have to make one of these VERY soon.
I like that the book is peppered with Crafty Hints and Mason Musings that give you more information about techniques, uses, and even recipes. I also like the quirky illustrations with their handwritten notes as instructions. But most of all I like that the projects are cute, practical and useful. Because while it’s fun to craft it’s also a fine thing to have a useful item at the end of crafting. Don’t you think?
