Remember the egg carton I posted about on Monday Crafting in NE Ohio – My Weekend Craft Supply Haul?
You probably thought, “Egg Carton? She bought and egg carton!”
You see, I had an idea in mind for it but wasn’t quite sure how, or if, it would work out.
But I have a serious case of Winter blahs and I’m willing to do just about anything for a shot of Spring! Hey, it’s been a mild winter but I do live in North East Ohio.
Here is what I did with it. Several light coats of Design Master in Prairie Grass gives my arrangement a light green base. I kept the color fairly light so it didn’t hide the character of the egg carton.
I only painted the inside of the carton.
I used small candle holders for the “vases” and filled in the empty spots with green marbles from ScribbleShop.com. (I’ll have another post with more product from them next month as a part of a bigger craft challenge I have coming up.)
I filled the vases with fresh daisies and flowering branches (Ok, the branches are fake… I cannot tell a lie. Really. I never was good at lying!) and added an egg or two.
I don’t have my Easter decorations down from the attic yet but some decorate eggs would look good too. And maybe a little lamb or bunny?
This egg carton base is a great flexible substrate for lots of different flowers and Spring/Easter themed decorations. PLUS it’s the cheapest floral “container” I’ve ever found at 49 cents!
This is going to make a GREAT Spring decor for my kitchen. 🙂
Lovely! Just lovely!
Thank you, Terri, I appreciate your compliment. 🙂
Happy Spring!!
