With just about a month to go until Valentine’s Day I’m really on a roll as far as my Valentine’s Day crafts go. I made a super fun garland out of the usual Valentine items but I also added in a few extras.
The base for my garland is two white feather boas. LOVE feathers! I layed them on the counter end to end and put TWO skinny red Valentine garlands on top. I made the red garland kind of loose with some peaks and valleys so that everything isn’t all straight and rigid.
THEN I added a glittery red and pink heart garland on top of that!
I made little bunches of ribbon and eyelash yarn along with silver and red beaded strands from the ribbon department. I doubled them over and secured it all with a red chenille stem.
I added the bunches of ribbon to the garland with the chenille stem. I started with the center where the two feather boas meet. I threaded the chenille stem through the string loops and twisted it around to keep both boas together. Then I continued along the garland with the chenille stem tied ribbon bunches until I had it all secured in several areas.
I also added a bolt of bright pink and light pink tulle to the mix. I rolled it out and where there were chenille stems in the garland I tied a loose knot and then used the chenille stem to attach the loops to the garland.
I didn’t cut the tulle in between knots but just ran it to the next chenille stem, tied another knot, wrapped it in the chenille stem and kept going.
The whole thing is fun, playful and and just a little bit sexy!
