I have a review up today of the French Knitter from Clover USA over on the Craft Test Dummies blog. You can read it here: French Knitter – Clover USA
I love getting new tools that are portable and I like this tool because you can do lots of different things with the knitted tubes. I was initially only going to use the French knitter long enough to create a sample for my review over on Craft Test Dummies but I enjoyed working with it so much I actually went to the store for more beads so I could make a longer piece.
Then, of course, I had to see about making some French knitter jewelry with the finished piece.
Here is a close up of the French knitted tube and the beads. Both the yarn and beads came from Jo-Ann’s Fabric and Craft Store.
The pendant is from Don Drumm studios here in Akron, Ohio and I actually picked it out after I picked out the yarn and beads thinking that they would go together.
And I think I got it right!
I’ve finished off the ends of the French knitter tube with silver cones. I’ve got some chain and smaller beads just like the ones in the knitted section and a tiny silver goddess at the bottom.
I love the overall magikal vibe of the piece and I have a couple of grey t-shirts that this will go PERFECTLY with.
The necklace is very nice but what materials did you use?
Deanne, It is a ribbon yarn and tubes of seed beads from Jo-Ann’s Fabric and Craft stores.
I haven’t seen the yarn in the store for a while now and I just looked online and don’t see it. Though Martha Stewart does have a line of ribbon yarn with them here.
The beads are in the jewelry section and are the store brand in plain plastic tubes with black caps.
I hope that helps.
Absolutely lovely! I would never have given this little tool a second thought until I saw your review on CTD and then saw this!!! TFS, Vicki!
