Last summer I found myself volunteering for a local non-profit Let’s Grow Akron. And it was one of the highlights of my summer.
I would go to the farm market as the vendors set up and shop for ingredients, cook a dish right there at the market, and share how I made it along with the recipe. Handing out samples to market shoppers and getting feedback on the dish as well as helping women feed their babies good, healthy food. was amazing.
I will be at the Summit Lake Neighborhood Farmer’s Market once a month this summer. My first cooking demo is today and I will be making garlic and butter green beans for the shoppers to taste and learn how to make. It’s really a simple recipe and the garlic and green beans are coming on strong in the garden and at local farmer’s markets.

-
Cook and stir garlic with green beans until garlic is tender and fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes. Season with pepper and salt.
