Party Decor: Glass Cylinder Vase and Flat Backed Marbles

Have you ever wondered what to do with vases and such AFTER the wedding? I see brides-to-be buying 20-30 cylinder vases or Eiffel Tower vases and I wonder… What the heck do they do with them after the wedding??

I imagine a few simply wash them out (or not) and return them to wherever they purchased them and get their money back. Kind of like renting… only less cool. I think that many box them up and store them in the attic until a cousin or other family member decides to use them for their wedding.

BUT… what if you could find another use for them? Some of them at least.

All you need is a straight sided vase and some flat backed marbles like these DecoGems from Darice.

You can either use hot glue or E6000 to adhere the marbles to the vase. Hot glue will stick instantly but sometimes the marbles can come off. If you use E6000 make sure to have some blue painter’s tape on hand to hold the marbles in place until the glue dries.

If you are feeling REALLY brave you can put E6000 on the marble AND THEN hot glue. The hot glue will hold the marble in place until the E6000 dries. Be sure to have plenty of ventilation if you try that though!

New Years Eve Decor?

The flat back marbles come in all sorts of colors and color combinations.

Some other uses for this hurricane:

Use it as a vase (original use), the bottom is weighted so you certainly won’t have to worry about it tipping over!

Use marbles in your High School colors for a graduation party or a reunion

Use marbles in seasonal colors – think Christmas, Fall, Halloween

Use marbles that coordinate with your (or a recipient’s) home decor as a house warming gift

What ideas do YOU have for being able to use the flat back marbles? What seasons or reasons did I leave out?
