I just KNOW I saw this technique done on an episode of Cool2Craft but for the life of me I can’t find it.
I looked on Eco Heidi’s Blog and on Cool2Craft. Don’t you hate it when that…
Oh wait! Here it is. On YouTube. Heidi Borchers Brown Bag Foiled Pins
I used basically the same technique for my leaves excpet that I used brown Kraft paper which is thinner than brown paper bags so they curled up a bit. But I like that look for this project. Oh! And I used Folk Art paint in Autumn Leaves as my base coat before the gold leafing.
I also used Folk Art paint in Teddy Bear Brown on the paper mache frame and then sponged Folk Art Metallic Solid Bronze over top with a natural sponge.
It’s an awful lot of work for a simple frame but I really like the way it looks.
What about you? Is it worth your while to spend a lot of time on a project that you really like? Or are you a “the easier the better” kind of person?

I think the frame is lovely, and no, not too much trouble.
Hi Pat,
I think that sometimes it’s NICE to spend more time than usual on a project. It just makes it more special.
These leaves are SO pretty with the gold foil Vicki! Thanks for sharing! EcoHeidi will be delighted to hear that she inspired you! Happy Fall!
YIPPEE! Tell her that I said THANKS!!
