Jewelry Making: Necklace with Large Hole Glass Beads and Ribbon

I like the large hole glass beads. When they first came out they cost and arm and a leg but now that they’ve been out a while nearly every manufacturer has a line of them.

I purchased two packages recently along with some coordinating ribbon.

I put ribbon ends on two pieces of the ribbon. Then I strung the beads on beading wire and crimped a double jump ring on each end and attached that to the ribbon ends. You could also just put the beads on the ribbon but the jump rings keep the beads in the center. Also, if the ribbon should come untied the beads won’t fall all over the floor.

Easy peasy and ready for summer!

I think I’ve commented before that I can’t wear necklaces to work–I teach with two mics, one for a student with a hearing disability and one for my voice (I have vocal damage.) So necklaces clack on the mics like crazy. However in the summer, I try to wear a necklace everyday…I’ll have to come back then!
