I set a goal back in January to somehow, some way, get published in a magazine this year.
I’ve been published in newspapers, craft manufacturer catalogs and a few other places but not in a magazine.
I knew I wanted that to be my next step.
I just wasn’t sure how to go about it.
And you know this year has been crazy with changes, some troubles and other stuff and I kind of let that goal sit on the back burner while I kept putting out fires.
I didn’t forget that I had the goal it just seemed that there were so many other things clamoring for my attention.
Then as part of my efforts to improve myself (and save my sanity… or what is left of it) I started making gratitude flags with this post – Cultivating a New Attitude with Gratitude Flags.
Little did I know that a couple of people at Jacquard would like them enough to put them in their ads in Create & Decorate and Quilting Arts Magazine.
And here they are.
To say I’m thrilled is quite an understatement.
And yeah, I know it’s not the same as having the magazine publish me and I’m OK with that.
To say that I appreciate my new best friends (LOL!) at Jacquard is also an understatement.
But I’m so very thankful, that in a surprising way, my goal was reached.
The takeaway???
When you put your desires out into the universe on a consistent basis, even when you have NO IDEA how they will come about, things have a way of turning out. Maybe not EXACTLY the way you imagine or the via the vehicle you imagine, but turning out just fine all the same.
Remind me of this in a couple of weeks when I’m grousing because things aren’t moving fast enough. OK?
The directions for both of the Gratitude Flags will soon be available on the Jacquard Projects Page in the very near future. BONUS!
P.S. Notice the title of the article on the front of Quilting Arts Magazine? “Achieving Your Artistic Goals”
Kind of gives me goosebumps. 🙂
Vicki, I love this post!!! Congratulations to you! Your gratitude flags are inspiring, and you deserve it! It’s been so much fun working with you!

Charlotte,
Yippee!! Glad you like it and I’m glad you “get” the gratitude flags. Not everyone gets what I do at times.
I’m not sure if that says something about ME or YOU! LOL! 🙂
Off to see my project on the site.
Thanks a bunch and have a great weekend!
