I know you’ve heard people say they are sick and tired, and sometimes they say they are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and while I am sick I’m also thankful.
I have a cold that has really knocked me out the past several days but it’s finally starting to get better.
And for that I am thankful.
I am also thankful that I am my own boss and I don’t have to worry about punching a time-clock or sick days, or worse yet, going to work feeling like death. Yes, that means there may not be a blog post here for a day or two but really, the world won’t end because of it. Will it?
I’m all caught up on deadlines and I’ve just finished my last stint of local appearances. I actually had a few days with a slow schedule. Thankful.
I’m thankful that my husband also works from home. He’s been the very best care-taker and that has allowed me to simply sleep, and sleep and sleep.
I am thankful that our children are grown and independent. I don’t have to schlep anyone to music lessons or soccer practice.
In the past I would push myself until I often ended up with pneumonia and then I’d be down for weeks on end. Not this time. My life is in a place where I can take it easy, get well quicker and do what my body needs me to do.
This midlife stuff does have its’ perks!
And for that I am sick and thankful.
I wrote a comment and then forgot to post it I think. Anyway, I’m so glad that you’re feeling better Vicki! You are so right in that you can take time off since you don’t punch a time clock. Go fishing, or lay in a hammock all day. Whatever relaxes you and don’t let stress get to you cause that can make you sick too. That’s much easier to say than to do. I’ve gone through two tests so far and they came back negative so that’s good. One more set of tests to do and I hope they come back fine and that my iron supplement has been working so that my regular doctor can release me to have my back surgery. You must try to take care of yourself and remember that we’re only here for a short while. :0)
Hi Barbara!
Glad to hear from you.
I’m glad to hear that the tests are coming back good for you.
Crossing my fingers that things continue to go so well.
Keep me posted.
And YOU take care of YOU too! 🙂
Vicki
