I got this idea from my cousin Kim. I thought it would be great for any gardener or as a Mother’s Day gift. It can be made with thrifted teacups as well as newly purchased ones. (Don’t look at my neighbors junky back yard though)
And here is how to make them!
Tea Cup and Saucer (matching is totally optional)
E6000
Lg Candle Cups (Darice)
5/8 x 36 inch dowel rod
Simply glue the tea cup to the top of the saucer and the candle cup to the bottom of the saucer.
Once the glue is dry push the wood dowel into the ground. (It’s really easy to do around here right now because most yards are swamps!) Then put the candle cup on the wood dowel.
Fill the tea cup with water for a small bird bath (probably better with a more shallow cup) or with seeds, nuts or whatever the wild life in your area might like to snack on. The way this is put together it’s very easy to remove for cleaning.
Now, if it would stop raining and get warm so my flowers would come up the tea cups would look more like they are floating in the flowers instead of sticking out like sore thumbs! 🙂
