Thrifting Thursday - Vintage Needlework As Wall Art (and Halloween Decor)

I found two vintage needlework kits a while ago on one of my thrift store visits and I brought them home. Not because I wanted to stitch up the kits -especially since the threads included were in all of the WRONG colors – but because I liked the “drawing” on the background material.

I gently washed and ironed the fabric and mounted the “drawings” in black frames.

While the outline drawing of summer flowers wouldn’t normally be considered for Halloween decor I couldn’t resist. The background color was just the punch of off white I needed behind all of the black elements I was using and the flower outlines are kind of “skeletal” in style.

The black frames and off white background pull the whole look together. Don’t you think?
