Good for you Vickie! I did this about 6 years ago and believe me it wasn’t easy at first. So many people kept saying that I shouldn’t do it, that I should just go ahead and keep coloring my hair. Like you I persevered and now “most” of those same people think my hair is beautiful. I too was blessed with lovely white hair. I always share the story of my grandmother who had very pretty white hair. When I was a little girl I remarked to her that I wish my hair was that color. My wise grandmother looked at me and said, “if you live long enough, one day it will be.” She was so right and I am very glad that I had to wait because now it is like a crowning glory of having lived a long life. Good luck with your journey. Believe me, not coloring will give you so much more time for creativity.
Hi Elaine,
I’ve been thinking about going gray for several years now and whenever I would mention it I too was discouraged to do it. I’m enjoying the journey. Even the part where I doubt that I’ll be madly in love with it once it’s ALL gray! 🙂 I went to the dentist the other day and he called it “stunning”. I’m going to hang on to THAT word! 🙂
Thanks for the encouragement and the comment. I treasure both.
Bright Blessings,
V
