I told you in an earlier post about Vinyl Words and then I made a canvas using Vinyl Words as a Resist on Canvas. I got to thinking about the word “resist” and other ways resists are used in crafting. Which lead to me thinking “I wonder if I could use it as a resist on fabric?”
At first I thought it might not work but I was willing to give it a try anyway. I’m like that. I’ll think of something, think of three different reasons why it WON’T work and then do it anyway.
But I wasn’t sure if 1) the vinyl would even stick to fabric and 2) if color would bleed under the vinyl once applied.
Anyway, the only way to KNOW was to TRY.
You’ll need a T-shirt, laundered and dried using no fabric softener or dryer sheets.
I applied the LOVE Vinyl to the front of the T-Shirt. Apply according to package and make sure to burnish the vinyl with your fingers. Especially at the edges.
Notice the way I put this on at an angle? 🙂
Instead of the typical liquid dye I used Simply Spray. I LOVE this stuff!
First, give your shirt a few twists and then spray.
Spread the shirt out and re-twist so that fresh areas of the shirt are available for painting.
Let dry.
LOVE it!
I have another one for tomorrow but I used different colors and vinyl. Does it constitute its’ own blog post? I’m not sure but this one is too long already! 🙂

LOVE it when people start quoting me! 🙂
Awesome idea Vicki! The possibilities are ENDLESS! 😉
