I’m thinking of that old Reeses Peanut Butter Cup commercial.
“You got your peanut butter in my chocolate.”
“No, you got your chocolate in my peanut butter.”
Only in this case it’s –
“You got your jeans on my Krylon.”
“No, you got your Krylon on my jeans.”
Either way, I had a pair of jeans that I wear out in the shop when I’m painting and they had some spots of spray paint on them.
I figured why not embrace those spots and go to town?
And so I did.
First I bleached them out a bit and gave them a wash. The bleach added some UNcolor to the jeans.
I bunched them up and sprayed MORE paint on them.
Then I bunched them up and sprayed ANOTHER color on them.
Then I created some stencils and sprayed SOME MORE.
And I took a razor blade and the sander to the knees.
And now I wear these jeans in the shop, the studio and even running an errand or two around town.
I’ve washed and dried them twice and they are soft and the color is still vibrant.
Hey, if you are a messy creative like I am you might as well embrace the mess and have fun with it. Right?
Are you a messy creative? Where do you make your biggest messes?
Love it! What a great idea to embrace the messy part of being an artist. 🙂
Love what you did with the jeans!
