If there is one thing I learned from having cancer it is that I’ve GOT to start taking better care of my body. So I was super excited when the folks at Door to Door Organics reached out to me asking if I would try their products and service and share my thoughts with my readers. Perfect timing!

So I set up my account and a few days later I got an email saying that I could start shopping/ordering.

To begin, you choose whether you want a mix of fruits and veggies, just veggies or just fruit in your box. Then you decide which size box you want. I choose the mixed fruits and veggies and the Bitty Mixed Box because it’s just Warren and I at home now.

(But we won’t talk about how THAT is going right now *sniff*)

Then you will get an email saying what day your delivery will come and to remind you to shop or make substitutions.

I substituted a few things for the second week because we just bought groceries and don’t need any more bananas. But hey, a kiwi would be nice. Making substitutions was super easy.

You can also add things to your box. I clicked on the “Shop by Recipe” link and decided I wanted to try this Strawberries n’ Cream Chia Pudding. I’ve been hearing for months about chia seeds and I’ve wanted to try them but haven’t taken the leap yet. So I added them to my order.

Our first box arrived last Thursday (5/21) and it came with a generous sample of locally roasted coffee. Nice!

This is the contents of the Bitty Mixed Box for week 1. All of the produce was carefully packaged and in great shape.

And here are the extra things I ordered. That Thai Coconut Curry Hummus is to die for.

The items that needed to be cold were packaged in this insulated envelope with an ice pack. I love that they ask to have the packing materials returned. I immediately put everything back in the box and put it on the porch so I don’t forget to return them.

All-in-all I’m really pleased with the service. The website is easy to navigate and use, the delivery came on the day they said it would, the food was packaged with care and everything was in great condition. I also love that they will reuse or recycle the packaging.

Oh, and nothing was in separate packaging except the boxed items I ordered. No extra packaging to recycle or throw away. YAY!

The GIVEAWAY is closed the winner was Carol. Congrats!!

This is incredibly awesome. I am very jealous, they are not in Texas. We do have Co-ops though, just not delivery to my door without being quite expensive.

I’m way too far away in Pittsburgh, but like my mom always says, if it’s worth having it’s in Cleveland. I wish we hadn’t have left. This is a cool program.
