I probably should have called this project “Last Minute Halloween Favors” instead of “Peat Pot Halloween Favors” but both apply.
Peat pots are less than $2 for 10 at my local garden center. So I could have called them DIRT cheap Halloween party favors too.
Dirt cheap. See what I did there?
To create the image on the peat pot I painted a big white circle with gesso and let it dry. It takes about 20 seconds because the peat pot absorbs it pretty fast.
Then I painted an orange and yellow circle for the full moon. No fancy shading needed. Just barely mix together orange and yellow paint and brush it on.
Finally, my middle son drew bats on with a Sharpie marker.
Wrap a little raffia around 3 or 4 fingers to create a “nest” and then put that inside and add candy.
Done and Done.
Peat pots as a craft supply. I’m all over it and I’ve already started another project or two.
Who knew?
Have you discovered a surprising craft supply lately?
Love crafting with peat pots! These are SO cute Vicki! Pinning!
Thank you so much Laura! 🙂
