Happy Friday, kittens! It’s been a weird week here in The Creative Goddess world. Happy, sad, raining and a little snow with a few moments of sunshine, active, lazy, hungry, busy, sleepy … wait, that just sounds like a regular old week after all!
I’ve got a child getting married in October and I’m determined, DETERMINED I tell ya, to fit into a smaller size dress for this shindig. Let’s not forget the fact that I’m seriously overweight, just kicked the daylights out of breast cancer and also just celebrated the big 5-OH. I’m staring down the barrel of old age and thinking that if I’m going to be the sassy troublemaker I’m dreaming of becoming I’d better do something to improve my health so I can hustle away from the scene of my crimes. Because I fully plant to blame them on someone else.
So I’ve started with paying more attention to meal planning. I wrote earlier in the week about my Meal Planning Hack that has changed my life. No, really. It’s made it so much easier to plan healthy meals and make a shopping list! And if you want more inspiration for the recipes themselves the blog SkinnyTaste is on Dinner Plan Week 21 and Skip to My Lou and fellow bloggers are on Weekly Meal Planner Week 19. I’m not sure why they have different week numbers but I can tell you that they have some really good recipes for you to try.
Here are some other fun things from around the web this week.
Hair Trees and Sky Art is delightful and fun. It takes finding a fluffy bunny in a cloud formation to a whole ‘nother level.
The Beauty of Old Age: Living Without a Filter and this line “I long for the day when I can say whatever the hell I want, consequences be damned!” Not that I ever had much of a filter anyway but if you are kind of feeling the same be sure to check it out.
Starting Seeds Indoors – gotta get to that.
I have an article on about.com Global Chic Necklace and Bracelet using supplies from John Bead.
Navy Painted Throw Pillows. I’m seriously into green right now. Going to have to make some of these.
Do you ever wonder how mixed media artists get all of those layers? Try out the Imperial Duck Mixed Media Tutorial video and get inspired.
And if you’ve ever thought about trying your hand at polymer clay for jewelry making you’ll want to check out Essential Sculpey Tools. Also an article by yours truly on about.com
That’s in for me this week. I’m off to have coffee with a girlfriend and then it’s off to my studio to get more things made. Now if the sun would come out a while so I can get photos!
What do you have planned for the weekend?
