Sometimes when I’m doing some research I want to get my hands on a book that is no longer in print (or not brand new). That is when I head to the used book store, and Buckeye Bookshop is one of the few local used book stores still around.
Bill Chappelear is the the very knowledgeable and helpful owner. He said he has over 4,000 books that are NOT in the shop and something tells me that he probably knows, by heart, the title of each one as well as how many of each he has.
I can’t even begin to imagine how many books are IN the shop.
When I was young one of my favorite things to do was to go to the library. I had to be a very good girl to get to go to the library and I was in HEAVEN when we went.
Bribery works, folks!
I’ve been an avid reader since I was really young. I remember in early grade school, reading my mothers books. She used to get quite irritated with me when I let her bookmark fall out and lose her place. 😉
Going into this bookstore just makes me HAPPY. A little claustrophobic, but HAPPY.
Mr. Chappelear also has another website TomFolio.com where he sells his more collectable books. If there is something you’ve been looking for you’ll want to check out his websites. If he can’t find it for you I don’t know who can!
Did you have a place your parents took you to that you had to be VERY good to get to go?
