Toobox Tuesday: Katiedids Beading Channels for Jewelry Making

Last week I shared a review of Katie Hacker’s Live Wire Jewelry and today I wanted to share her Katiedids Beading Channels. Here is what she says about them on KatieHacker.com:

“I designed these components to give beaders the power to completely customize your designs – right down to the findings! Each piece provides a channel-set effect for beads, flatbacks, fibers, polymer clay, resin, and more. The sticks and scallops make great earrings or dangles and the circles are perfect for pendants. The channels in the components provide a framework, but you make it yours.”

There is quite a variety of shapes and sizes and I love that they are either smooth (left) or scalloped (right).

Here is a necklace I created with the scalloped rectangle.

There is a hole in each end of the element allowing wire to pass down the channel to hold the beads in place. I simply created a wire wrapped loop at each end.

The earrings on the left were a Make and Take at CHA and the black pieces are just a little something I made for ME.

I’m thinking New Years Eve sparkle.

I like that Katiedids are easy to create with but still offer a lot of versatility. I’m thinking of some resin or polymer clay pieces to make next.
