Six Strand Polymer Clay Necklace

Six Strand Polymer Clay Necklace

It has been a little while since I played with polymer clay (polymer clay pendants) but I was recently cleaning up and decided to make a necklace with some of the pendant pieces I came across.

That is the down side to cleaning up around here. I always get side tracked by something and end up creating in stead of cleaning!

The above beads I purchased at a local bead shop that closed this summer. Man, do I miss that shop and being able to just walk into a place and drool over beads. Ya know?

I decided to use the large pendant along with the cut out portion. I drilled a hole in the cut out portion and strung 6 long strands of silk cord through it.

I made a loop and put all 12 strands (It’s double now) through the loop and then through the pendant.

I used a silver bead as a “stop” and then proceeded to knot and bead the strands. It’s very casual and light weight.

What do you think?

    Cindy,
Thanks for commenting. What a nice surprise! 🙂 I love to wear this piece because it’s got a hefty look but it’s very light at the same time. I never imagined I’d like polymer clay because I was never attracted to the canes and cutesy looking figures. But this I like! 🙂

I totally know what you mean about getting caught up with making polymer clay jewelry. I started about 15 years ago and never looked back! Your necklace and pendant turned out great! I really love the way you did the cording. Gives the piece a light and airy feel to it!
