Between a week of vacation and some really big deadlines I haven’t been going to my favorite thrift spots much lately. Feeling kind of burned out & needing a break I decided to take yesterday morning and visit a couple of places.
My first stop was the Goodwill on Waterloo Road in Akron where I found this great box that used to hold silverware, a beat up tea pot (anyone know how to tell if it’s really copper?) and two gardening books for $9.08
I have mixed media plans for the box and a fun garden/outdoor project for the teapot and the books I’ll put on my front porch to peruse when I’m enjoying a cup of tea.
I also picked up two glass, gallon sized jars with lids for .90 each (can you say SUN TEA?!) and this garden flag for .50 at the Discount Village Thrift also on Waterloo in Akron.
I stopped by Abbey Ann’s In Tallmadge but didn’t find anything I really wanted. I had actually gone in because I’d seen a shelf there a few weeks ago and hadn’t bought it. It was gone so I guess I didn’t need it after all. 🙂
Then I splurged a little extra and picked up an Iced Soy Chai from Starbucks along with a copy of Gone With the Wind. I have the movie memorized but have never read the book so I’ve decided that will be my big summer read this summer.
I didn’t get much CREATED yesterday but sometimes you have to take time to fill that creative cup back up again and enjoy some time for yourself.
What do you do when you need to recharge? What activities fill your creativity back up?
