Getting a healthy breakfast on weekdays can be a challenge even though I work from home.  I get up and walk 2.5-4 miles most mornings and by the time I get back home and have a quick shower my phone is ringing off the hook and I have eleventy emails that need immediate attention. I often head straight to my office or studio to get right to work. I loved this make ahead breakfast idea on Dollar’s Tree Value Seekers Club  and knew it would help me to be better about getting a good breakfast before (or while) jumping into work.

Dollar Tree asked me to check out their Value Seekers Club  and to recreate one of their August crafts and I knew instantly that the Mason Jar Oatmeal was something I needed.  I also thought it would pair nicely with something else I enjoy in the morning and that is a positive inspirational quote. Something to keep in the corner of my mind to keep me motivated and in a positive frame of mind.

Here is what I used:

The supply list for the Mason Jar Oatmeal

Cardstock or decorative papers

Inkjet printer

Extra large paper punch

Sticky dots or tape

Directions:

Bake the Mason Jar Oatmeal according to the instructions on Dollar Tree’s Value Seekers Club website and allow them to cool before adding jar lids.

Comb the web for short quotes that inspire you, and cut and  paste them into a simple word document.

Print out the inspirational quotes onto cardstock or decorative papers and punch out with a large paper punch.

Once the oatmeal has cooled and the jar lids are attached adhere  the inspirational quotes with a sticky dot or tape.

I was surprised at how quick and easy it was to put together. Not to mention time saving and budget friendly. I love the little extra mental boost from the inspirational quotes and have taped a few of them where I can see them near my computer.

What a wonderful breakfast idea… feeding the mind and body. Thanks so much for this article and the fabulous giveaway – I wasn’t aware of the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club. I’m in there ALL the time! I’m totally geeking out with the monster boxes, but I also look forward to giving the oatmeal recipe a try. 🙂

My daughter got married last month. I think the photo coasters would be a bonus gift using some of her wedding photos.

I love Dollar Tree! I want to make the picture coasters for everyone I know. In June I put together cute planters for my Granddaughter’s birthdays, and they both loved them. Everything except the plants came from Dollar Tree.
