My Tiny House Studio

Backyard Bungalow, Manifesting Dreams

You know how the new age spiritual gurus are always talking about ‘manifesting’? You are supposed to dream it up in detail (whatever it is that you want), write it down, and envision it in your life. Then the idea is that you work hard and somehow the universe sees to it that your dream is made a reality?

I really, really want a tiny house studio and garden shed in my back yard. A place where I can hang out and create either in/for my garden or for my house. Or, heck, just for the fun of it.

And what is better than dreaming up something and writing it down? Creating it in miniature!

In my dreams it is right near my apple and pear tree and just steps from my garden gate. I’ve got chickens and quail along with my dogs and my new black kitten that I named Iris. Do you see her stretching on the porch railing?

My tiny house studio will have a tiny front porch with a place to enjoy a glass of wine and a good book. Opps! The book fell on the floor.

(I actually cut the Backyard Bungalow kit from miniatures.com down a good six inches to create a true tiny studio!)

art studio, tiny house,

Inside the floors are brick and the walls are whitewashed. I have an old farm sink for rinsing paint brushes and vegetables. But maybe not at the same time.

There will be a potting bench and my favorite “wellies” for wearing out in the garden on soggy days.

A brightly painted dining table and chairs holds two cups of coffee and a plate of cookies for when you come and visit me.

And just like most of the rooms in my real house there are books piled here and there. Books I can pick up and read any time I want.

Oh, and even a cuckoo clock just like the one I brought home from when I lived in Germany.

This is a wonderful dream of mine. A space of my own to dig in the dirt, spread paint on a canvas or stitch the afternoon away in a cozy chair.

Ahhhh. I feel relaxed and content just thinking about it.

What would YOUR dream studio look like?

Looks sweet! A real haven! I am still looking at housing changes for us. Found one that I thought would be perfect – lots of storage, lots of living space, an outside studio space…. But alas, we’re not ready to move. I think we are just overwhelmed with the amount of work it would take to get us moved… I sure hope a time will come when we DO feel like moving…. 🙂 This place is just overwhelming sometimes.

      Hi Carol,
I can totally relate to that overwhelming feeling. But you have a lot more land and a bigger house than me. I wish I could have a “hired hand” but every time I offer to pay someone they don’t show up. Oh well. I think the only way I’ll ever move is when they drag me away. 🙂

I think your dream is wonderful Vickie and hope you get to realize it. I have a wonderful studio now and I’ll be leaving it soon to move to another home. We just closed on a home which is on the water with a boat dock. I only has one small room for me to work with but I think I can make it my own. Good luck to you!

Oh, Barbara, a studio near the water sounds divine! I’m totally jealous – even if it is a small room. I hope you will share a photo with me!
